About Us

The team behind The Other Pets is a duo with extensive experience and uniquely honed expertise. With nearly a half century of combined experience in field research, specialty veterinary medicine, and AZA zoological institutions, they have amassed a wealth of knowledge about the nuanced care of the exotic species that have found their way into our hearts and our homes.

The Team

Danielle Inman and Christopher Bednarski have traveled to the most remote corners of the globe, exploring over 40 countries to observe and study the world’s fauna. Danielle led the Avian and Exotics team at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists for 14 years and is a featured fixture on National Geographic’s Animal ER. She has a number of scientific and lay-person publications under her belt. Chris, a herpetologist whose exploits are written about in New York Times’ Bestseller The Sixth Extinction, is an avid wildlife photographer with several peer-reviewed publications and photos in field guides and magazines. Both have managed large captive collections of reptiles and amphibians, primates, birds, and mammals for zoological institutions. Together they are a driving force for wildlife conservation and captive animal welfare.
